Have to point out that “only then” is not the same as “then and only then.”
“Only then” indicates a necessary condition;
“Then and only then” indicates a sufficient and necessary condition.
You can’t really reduce the concept expressed by “then and only then”, but you could slightly shorten it by writing “if and only if”.
I love that she wrote “SMAHHHHHT”. That’s something I do all the time - New Englander, perhaps?
