Jeff and Becky are on the way to Kentucky. Suzy’s water broke and she is in labor. The baby was not due until June 14. Jeff is so hoping this is a good sign. Suzy had slept with her ex-husband 3 weeks before the one night stand with Jeff and since the baby is coming earlier than originally predicted Jeff is hoping this means it is not his child. Becky will keep me posted. Suzy’s ex does not even know she is in labor. He does know that she is pregnant and would like the child to be his. Suzy, however, wants it to be Jeff’s and wants Jeff there for the birth. Becky says it takes 5 days for the DNA results to come back but she feels like if this is Jeff’s baby she will know the minute she sees it. The dominant eye brows that Jeff and Vicky have seem to be a dominate gene carried in the family and she feels like the baby will have some characteristics of Jeff if in fact it is his son.

Wow. I wish my family were this exciting. Though, my mom did tell me about my former girl scout leader’s husband turning out to be a cross-dresser. But she never wrote the lurid details of that to me through email for me to have posted!
I am so sorry to report that my mother in law has not emailed me updates. I have emailed her numerous times asking, but I guess no one is talking…I promise as soon as I get an update, I will let you know. Trust me, it is killing me as well.
Her last comment to me was about how weird it was that the baby momma did not want her ex-husband, who is another potential father, to be in the delivery room, just Jeff….I also find it odd that the baby momma has Jeff’s telephone number to call and let him know he might have a kid, but I guess we can save all of that for Springer.

This just in…apparently the 5 days I was initially told were not accurate….
Jeff is supposed to receive his information on the DNA testing today. Talked to Becky last night. She feels in her heart that this is not Jeff’s baby. I know they are on pins and needles.
What did people do before DNA testing??

Tina - thanks for your concern. The baby is fine, and larger than a baby would be if he/she was a month early. This whole situation is nuts - but every family has a nut, I am just glad to know it is not me in this case. Here is the deal: Jeff had a one night stand with Suzy. Suzy called weeks later to say she was preggers with his kid (do you really keep a guys number after a one night stand? They did not even live in the same city. Suzy was visiting a friend when she met/slept with Jeff). Anyway, Suzy called Jeff - said I am pregnant with your kid…later Suzy mentioned that it could have been her ex-husbands kid as she slept with him a few weeks befoer Jeff. I think Suzy wants Jeff to be the daddy because she knows that he will take care of her and the baby….but again, that can all be saved for Maury or Springer.
I cannot wait to hear the results of the DNA - am hopeful that it is not Jeff’s kid and he can move on with his life - but if it is, he is wanting to take full financial responsibilty and “do the right thing”. We’ll see, but I am pretty sure he will be using a condom next time he brings home some shady chick from the bar…

Well, if it’s bigger than one would expect for being so early, plus no “prominent brow” (sorry, that part makes me laugh every time), all signs are pointing to it being her ex’s baby. Glad to hear it’s healthy though.
Regardless of how it turns out - I think Jeff is going to be a whole lot more cautious in future!

The DNA results are back and there is 0% chance that Jeff is the father of the baby born in Kentucky to Suzy. Lessons learned and prayers met.

You know what would’ve been cool? If Suzy had had twins and one of them was Jeff’s and one of them was the ex’s… Coz, you know, after waiting all this time to hear - I’m sorry, BabyUpdater, I think you’ve got a good story there, there’s clearly a gripping plotline, your characters are (for the most part) sympathetic, the baby is adorable, but - I think the ending Needs Work.

I too followed this silently for days. I was sure for a while there, at the lack of news, things were bad for Jeff.
I am so happy he was willing to do the right thing –support the baby, “prominent brow” or not (love that too) — but that he is vindicated and, presumably, a fan of birth control you can see.
Poor baby, sounds like Jeff would have been a good dad…but yeah to Jeff for not having to deal with this drama anymore, this would be a great movie, maybe by the Farrelly brothers, I am picturing Frieda Kahlo eyebrows on Jeff & Vicki and Whoopi Goldberg eyebrows on everyone else, including the baby played by Verne Troyer.
One more question: How are you, the updater, email poster, related to Becky & her children, Jeff & Vicki? Because I don’t think Becky is your mother or you would have answered in my 2nd post (#16) that Becky is my mom and Jeff & Vicki are my siblings. I mean if this drama is just your mother-in-laws friends and/or her neighbors and/or her mailman that makes it even better and funnier that we are so concerned!!
