The Grown-Ass Woman’s Club

Friday I’m doing something fun as well. Joan and I are starting a club called The Grown-Ass Woman’s Club. Our mascot is Gert Boyle (One Tough Mother) from Columbia Wear. Your stepfather is making fun of us but I think he’s just petty and jealous. I finally told him to shut up. That’s what GAW do when they are confronted with negativity.  One of  our field trips is going to be on a Saturday and we’re going to find those Red Hat Ladies and shove them down. They’re ridiculous and need to be eliminated.

I SO want to join her club. I’ve been looking for a reason to push some silly women in red hats around.

Hilarious. My mum joined the red hat ladies for one lunch and said it was the dumbest thing she ever had to sit through. I have to think she would like GAW better.

I must say *I* am jealous too! She can tell me to shutup, but as a potential GAW member myself, I might just slap the silly out of her. Of course, we’d get along well after that.
I LOVE that mom. Can I trade?!

How great is this! Completely got the visual of shoving down Red Hat ladies. Man, that would relieve stress for me too. Reminded me of Dustin Hoffman pushing over the mime at the end of “Tootsie.” Go GAWs.

I love it. I have never been a club joiner– o.k. maybe Weight Watchers– but I really, really want to join this club. I’m sure I won’t have any problem sticking to its requirements.

I thought about this post this morning when I was shopping and noticed that there was a convention of Red Hat Ladies in the City. My first thought was, “Where is GAW when you need some arse-kicking?”

So, I definitely just sent this link to my mom and told her that I think we need a chapter of this club as well. Seriously. Does your mom have a website or a sample charter or by-laws or anything?

Love, love, LOVE this idea! :D

      Hey gals,
This is a very funny site, just found it this morning. I’m 70 years of age (NOT old – lookin’ 50, feeling 30) and I do remember clearly what it was like being a young Mom.

My reason for writing this note to you fun gals is to comment on – ‘the Red Hat Ladies’. Here’s my food for thought gals – down the road you’re going to be the age of these gals of, (heaven forbid) one of the Red Hat Ladies. They’re just lookin’ for some fun!

It’s not my ‘cup of tea’ either and wasn’t is Cindy Lauper that said – GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN’ ! Or, maybe my memory fails me and it was someone else. Well no doubt one of you gals will correct me if I’m wrong.

Women ROCK! Many daily hugs to all, Shirl

      …menopause angst … ????

I have been married for 38 years, and have worked with my husband for 34 years. I AM a GAW…he says I will never be old enough to join the “red-hats” yea!!!

Marriage is like a pile of Junior Mints that melted over sour gummy bears. Sweet and sour and just CAN’T get enough!!!

Can I come along and shove down the Red Hat Ladies. My husband saw a group of them at a restaurant and asked me what the deal was. I told him. He made me swear that I would NEVER join them. He said he thought it was some sort of fashion disaster club.
