A repository of modern day maternal correspondence

What is wrong with you?

I can’t believe your grades and you have an incomplete.  What is wrong with you?  You have so much to offer and you keep fucking it up.  Dad said your one scholarship isn’t on the new statement, did they take it anyway because of your grade point average?  I have enough problems, without you adding to them.  You are TWENTY, not TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   You better call me!!!!!!!White boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, my mom did this exact same thing to me a few years ago!

2. Suz - June 15, 2008 at 2:56 pm

OMG, I am a mom who had the exact conversation with my son last year! We must be living identical lives!

3. kelly - June 15, 2008 at 5:25 pm

I love this!

4. Julia Broadway - June 15, 2008 at 7:08 pm

You tell him! Also, love the zillions of exclamation points.

5. Christina - June 15, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Just reading this is stressing me out.

6. Meghan L. - June 15, 2008 at 10:18 pm

7. Meja - June 15, 2008 at 10:58 pm

Can you feel the love?

I would have expected such an e-mail from my mom when I was 20. RUN FOR THE HILLS!

8. Cat - June 16, 2008 at 12:11 am

What college student hasn’t gotten this email? I love the “You better call me!!!”, because you know he hasn’t called his parents back in weeks since he doesn’t want to talk about this.

love it…. it’s great how she lays it on him straight rather than guilt-tripping him like my mom used to do. and calling him “white boy” at the end was brilliant!! haha

12. Nicole - June 16, 2008 at 12:27 pm

This is the type of mother I plan on being, White Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13. Holiday Djinn - June 16, 2008 at 1:15 pm

You know you are in trouble when mom breaks down and uses a zillion exclamation points, then takes it to the next level with “White Boy!”

14. Jennie - June 16, 2008 at 2:25 pm

White boy! LOL!!!!

15. Lucy - June 16, 2008 at 5:13 pm

Don’t you love it when your parents make you feel like a burden? This just made me sad.

16. LucyLoo - June 16, 2008 at 10:36 pm

It might be a burden if there are say… parent loans!! And he’s being a butt munch & losing what bit of help with tuition cost there was. !!??!!

17. Echoes - June 17, 2008 at 12:46 am

Can just picture the mom ranting & raving at the computer screen as she wrote this ! Wonder if she was any calmer by the time he called ?! LOL

This site is so depressing. If I had taken incompletes in college or gotten bad grades rest assured I wouldn’t have gotten an email about it with exclamation points. There would be up close and personal confrontation about it.

Judging from the comments, I now understand that most people’s momma’s are pansies. I was raised by an Israelli Commando mom by comparison.

19. becka - June 18, 2008 at 10:43 am

Unless the kid is paying (which it doesn’t seem like since Dad got the statement), he deserves it. No one should waste money like that.

I hope he got more than just an angry email.

20. Becca - June 19, 2008 at 3:35 pm

uuuggggghhhh … this is why i took the year off school.

AND took out my own loans…. my mom is still hounding me though lol

this kid is living my life

21. ohiomom - June 23, 2008 at 11:03 pm

i’ve sent a few emails like this myself. It may seem mean but it always did the trick. Amazingly the grades came up, the incompletes got corrected, the scholarship got credited and THE KID GRADUATED WITH HONORS

22. oh-himom - June 27, 2008 at 4:00 pm

I am surprised that fewer comments have touched on the “white boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” comment. That’s really my favorite part as it really takes the craze-factor up a notch.

23. jp - June 29, 2008 at 6:51 pm

I LOVE it; more moms should be like this than maybe we would not have so damn many whiny ass people in the world.

24. Ric's Girl - July 10, 2008 at 3:18 pm

Yeah. White Boy. :)

25. Emily - July 16, 2008 at 9:11 pm
