Get me out of here!

Surprise, I am writing you an email.

I NEED HELP AND SOON, BEFORE I STARVE TO DEATH !!!!

I am guessing that you are wondering how come I’m doing this — it’s just because I am locked into my computer room and cannot get out.  I was trying to put a door knob on the door and got started, but the thing went completely closed as I was trying to see if it was going to fit — and now here I am having to stoop so low as to write an email to you to see if you could call someone to come get me out.  My phones, of course, are all in the other room. I thought that perhaps you could call Beverly and have her and Howie come over and get me out.  If you happen to have Tami’s number then call her.

Anyhow, can you get me out of here.  I guess I’ll just play games on the computer until someone lets me out of here.  Send me an email to let me know you are doing this for me.

This is too funny, in a sad sort of “I’m trapped” way. Poor Mom – this is totally something mine would do.

OMG!! This wouldn’t be my mother but I could totally see my best friend doing the same thing. Actually, she has, but in a more public way, and the are either bathrooms or changerooms :)

Have we Moms become so hi-tech that the obvious has passed us by? What happened to opening the window and yelling HELP!? (Pride, I guess)

Update: Yes, my mom got out. I called my aunt to go rescue her immediately. My aunt said, “This is the second time this week!”
Also, Leigh, unfortunately, the computer room doesn’t HAVE a window. It’s basically a large closet with a door.

I just realized…she must have installed the doorknob backwards! I won’t say ‘DUH’ too loud because the situation is kind of sad, but door knobs have a correct orientation people!

Perhaps she should remove the door entirely and think about hanging a curtain across the opening …

I have actually read many jokes like this.

And for the guy who says that the knob was probably on backwards, all that would change is the direction that you would have to turn the knob in order to get out. If this were true, the way it would most likely work is that the second knob was not attached, because it was only being tested, and therefore, without the other part of the turning mechanism, the knob will not open.

This made me laugh so hard I cried a little.

Perhaps tears of pity as well, since I locked myself in a bathroom on Friday….
