"My mom was hesitant about my two pugs being called "grandpugs" at first as she is not interested in grandbabies either. Now we have a third pug, and after oh, a year, she loves her grandpugs.... she does IT and teaches technology stuff at an elementary school... the pugs in their Halloween costume (the three amigos) is her desktop background. In one class she had to teach the kids how to set a desktop background, her computer is used to project to the class, and she showed off her grandpugs... that was a proud moment. Um, this is so my mom.
While in college my mom used to send constant email about the printer .. most problems were able to be solved by my then 8 year old brother.
a blatant plea for her kid to visit. make them feel guilty so they will come see ya. if that doesn’t work then ask for help. if that doesn’t work then all bets are off and do whatever ya can.
