Diet advice

Heather said if you are only eating 1000 calories a day and not losing weight, it is probably because your body thinks it is starving and is holding onto the weight for your self preservation.  She suggests more calories are needed.  She is on 1300 to 1600.  Love, MOm

Um, your body doesn’t THINK it’s being starved. It IS being starved.

Yeah, that is actually really dangerous. 1500-1800 is better and lots of exercise. SELF magazine is a great motivator!

Hi, If your goal is to lose weight by burning off excess body fat, aim to eat 500 fewer calories per day than your daily caloric needs, and maintain or increase your exercise activity. Do not go below 1200 calories per day unless on a medically supervised weight loss program or after consultation with your doctor. My discussion is just an approximation.
