Mom: It’s funny, I leave food out for the dogs all day and they don’t touch it. They wait until I’m there and then they gorge it all down. They’re like, ‘Karen’s home! Time to eat!’
Me: They call you Karen? Doesn’t that bother you?
Mom: Well, they know I’m not their mom. Actually, I’m sure they have some special name for me in dog-language that I don’t understand, but I’m sure it is very respectable.
I think I know these dogs. Or at least that is exactly what my deceased mom’s two Yorkies are probably doing to my stepdad’s new wife, too, who is also named Karen.

That’s what my doggie does, too! He already had severe separation anxiety when I adopted him, and would only eat while I was standing there in the kitchen with him, but now has graduated to going to the kitchen and eating when I’m in another room :)

Some dogs are social eaters; it’s almost an ettiquette thing for them.

My cat does that! Didn’t know cats and dogs shared any traits. They leave the food sitting there until it gets this funky brown crust on it, and then when I get home, go into the Oliver Twist routine where I make them eat spoiled food, I’m so cruel and selfish. I always say,”It looked great six hours ago, when I opened the can.”
