Toe Bruise Update

Hi Kitten. You will be very happy to know that I was picking at my toenails and the swelling under it popped and all this black stuff came out onto the floor. It looks much better now.

Wow! She and I would get along great! I severely bruised the toe nails on both of my big toes while hiking in Colorado…. We can share toe nail gross stories.

Probably a blood blister, not a bruise. Still gross.

Black stuff could be old coagulated blood, which is what I had under my thumbnail for months after slamming it in a car door. Was a relief to get out – at least it stopped hurting – but was NASTY gross.

When you get those black (blood) spots under your nails from smashing them just heat up a paper clip and push it through the nail, it will relieve the pressure and it will stop hurting. I have even heard that depending on how much pressure has built up it may even squirt up in the air.

My nursing student daughter would want all the gory details, but my oldest daughter would make me stop telling the story before the first sentence!
      I’m feeling a little queasy myself….
