My mom bought me a giant economy sized (I guess “family sized” doesn’t really work here!) box of condoms before I left to study abroad. I thought it was really quite thoughtful and practical at the same time.

I love how everything else on the list is for your kitchen rather than just an assortment of items where condoms wouldn’t look quite so out of place. Does she just picture you baking cookies and then going at it on the counter?

When I was 17 and had been dating my now-husband for a month, my now-mother-in-law bought him one of those economy-sized boxes of condoms. We were still virgins for 2 months after that, but I appreciated the compliment.
