My 91 year old grandfather referred to any kind of tool that was held in the hand a “hand job”. When he was in the hospital, he took showers by sitting on a bath seat and being sprayed with a hand held shower nozzle. To my great amusement, he told all his visitors that the nurse gave him “a nice hand job in the shower”. God I miss him.

My mother wanted to have her car detailed including wax applied by hand. She kept referring to it as a “hand job” until my children finally said “Mimi, stop calling it that!!” I guess if the wax was sprayed on, that would have been a “blow job!”

haha, i love it! my mom does this sort of thing alllll the time and sometimes i have to just say to myself, ok i’m not touching that one. Heaven forbid there ever be a moment where i’ll be asked to explain.

for example, watching the SNL tina fey/sarah palin skit (the first one) my mom was like “flirj? what’s a flirj?”

oh my. (for those who know better than to google, well, the answer involves the words “rim” and “job”
… use your imagination)
