Just wanted to drop a line to let you know what your daughter has been up to. She managed to get the back door open and let Cory in and then Cory attacked her. Then later she went into the front room and climbed two screens because a gecko was taunting her over and over again. I kept going outside and running him off and he kept returning to taunt her. A little while ago she was on the bench in the breakfast nook and she had chewed through a cord before I could get to her. (History of poor parental control!)
She is really good at playing fetch. I throw the wad of paper and she runs and gets it and brings it back to me. She has been eating three cans of food a day and she doesnt have atomic poops anymore. Must have been the dry food. She just doesnt drink much water. Wolfie gives her lots of kisses which she really likes. I think she will be really happy to see you. Hope you had a good evening and have been getting your studying done,
Love , Mom

Weirdly, my mom refers to me as “mommy” when talking to my cat while I’m in the room and calls her “ho bag*” when talking about her to me.
*The cat spends every summer remapping the neighborhood and won’t come home for a couple of days at a go.
Mom calls that sluttish. But the cat’s fixed.

I describe all my friends as cat relatives: “cat mom,” “cat dad,” “cat aunt jen” etc.

Curse those evil geckos!

As a huge fan of cats the title alone had me in stitches…I loved the details of the kitty antics!

I missed that part about the cat… and just read daughter. I couldn’t figure out why grandma was so casual about the mishaps. Getting attacked, climbing screens AND chewing through a cord! It’s a much funnier story if you read it like I did!

My mom calls my cats her “grandkitties”, but she is getting bored with them. She wants real grandbabies. But, I don’t know what she could be thinking–she’s already had to foster her grandkitties during some of my difficult financial times–as well as grandkitties belonging to both of my sisters–what would she do if I left a grandbaby with her for a month or two?? Probably spoil it and teach it to call me “ho bag”! *hilarious, bree!*

My father makes references to his “granddog.”

I think your mom must have a lot of time on her hands if she’s spending time chasing off geckos and feeding the cat wet food 3 times a day! My kids are lucky if I remember to fill their water bowl and food dish every day!

My mom was hesitant about my two pugs being called “grandpugs” at first as she is not interested in grandbabies either. Now we have a third pug, and after oh, a year, she loves her grandpugs…. she does IT and teaches technology stuff at an elementary school… the pugs in their Halloween costume (the three amigos) is her desktop background. In one class she had to teach the kids how to set a desktop background, her computer is used to project to the class, and she showed off her grandpugs… that was a proud moment. She said she had the whole class trying to find pug pictures to set as their desktop background.
