That’s so cute! At least her mom can spell Ciao. My mom signed her e-mail the other day “Cia, Mommmmmeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs” I wasn’t sure if it was Ciao misspelled, or her trying to spell c-ya.

She constantly waivers between not wanting to be “smothered by me” and not wanting to be alone which equals smothering me from 2000 miles away. We both speak Italian so she knows her ciao. However, we are native Spanish speakers and where we are from, people shorten te quiero mucho (I love you) to tqm at the end of an email. So every other email ends with “ILY.” She also makes up her own stuff when texting, and then she’ll say, oh that’s “you grandma says hi” or something totally out of left ield.
