Whoa. Maybe she was busy? Jesus H. Christ, mom, get a grip and realize you’re not the center of the universe.

Geez, can’t a girl use the bathroom without mom going bonkers?? Really, this mom sounds like a very controlling individual, glad she is not my mother.

you know, i kind of feel like there are some people who comment that take these notes WAY too seriously. i’m sure the person who sent this in wasnt thinking “let me show everyone on the web my mom is a controlling psycho.” probably more along the lines of…”oh mom”.

although it’s kind of more amusing to read the absolutely horrified comments from readers.

Wow, a worried mom if there ever was one. I remember the one time my daughter called and then got off the phone, then called back to say she was to sick to talk. To sick to TALK?! I tried to call her dorm a while later and there was no answer. Like any good mom I called the police, they called campus police, they went to check on her. There she was passed out naked in the shower trying to cool her fever. They rushed her to the hospital with food poisoning. Needless to say I flew to NM asap. I shiver to wonder what would have happened if I didn’t give in to mothers instinct.

I cracked up at this post. My sister, who lives across country, has a habit of not communicating with anyone for weeks at a time — sometimes months. She screens calls on her home answering machine and doesn’t returns the calls. I’ve come to realize it’s her way of being in control. But it’s frustrating for my mom and me to never be able to get a hold of her. We have to wait until SHE’s in the mood to talk. That’s why this struck a chord. Sounds like a daughter who just wants to be left alone, and a mom who is genuinely frustrasted by that.

LOL, I submitted it but never thought it would make it up…
Actually, I ALWAYS answer my phone. Especially if it’s her. But she just happened to call me at an inopportune time (I think I was driving with the windows down and the radio up and couldn’t hear it ringing, or it died, I don’t remember). And even in my late 20′s, I’m known to get into some crazy situations. So she immediately emailed me, thinking I was ignoring her because I was out pulling some shenanigans. ;-)

This is hilarious! My daughter just sent me the link, and I’ll bet I see a few of my own “postcards” up here soon. A very fun site.

I once forgot to call my mom back and when I finally remembered, she started crying thinking I was mad at her for something. She went on and on about how she thought I was mad and that’s why I didn’t call back. It took me about an hour to convince her I was just forgetful and wasn’t angry. I have not once forgotten to call her back since then.
