"I'm named after the song A Letter to Elise by The Cure, and my middlenames: Klara and Lisel were chosen because my mom had a dream about having a daughter named Klara, and she promised my great-grandmother that she would name me Lisel."

I LOVED that story growing up!

Me too! And “Caps for Sale” … is that what it’s called? About the monkeys stealing caps? It’s kind of in the same style.

What I want to know is: how come you were talking about it in the first place? (The dead writer, that is; not the cap-stealing monkeys)

HA HA HA HA! What a clever mom!

Sorry guys, It’s bugging me…. but it’s Rikki Tikki Tembo, with an r. That was my favorite story in preschool. We did a play about it.

Two different things: Rikki Tikki Tavi (the mongoose story by Rudyard Kipling) and Tikki Tikki Tembo (by the now deceased what a shamebo).

Yes, that brought back memories…I used to read Tikki Tikki Tembo (no sa rembo, etc.) to my children, along with Caps for Sale, which I remember from my own childhood. Two of my favorites. I recall a show on PBS called Reading Rainbow…they read all the faves. Exposed me to some great children’s books!
