Don’t All Jump at Once

Having spent three hours this afternoon in Papa’s unheated house while waiting for the furnace to be repaired, I had plenty of time to take inventory of the treasures I want to offer to you girls. Up for grabs are the following:

One wooden plaque of a Conestoga wagon (Daddy said this was in his boyhood bedroom)
Two very creepy CLOWN woodcuts
Three mirrored bathroom pictures depicting WHIMSICAL cartoon children in the bathtub and sitting on the toilet!
A modernistic oil painting depicting a French street featuring a woman with an enormous ass in the foreground
A large Motel-Art Style oil painting of a Sicilian fishing village
A Venetian glass clown (goes beautifully with the woodcuts)
Several “Fummels”

Plenty more, too numerous to mention. Please let me know if I should label any of the above for your future use, no fighting please!

These sound exactly like the treasures one might find in my grandmother’s house!

This sounds exactly like my mom when she was trying to get rid of her old Christmas decorations! Needless to say, there was no fighting between my brother and me:)

Wow… sounds like my parent’s house… just how I would describe the loveliness of some of the “treasures” that my mother has a death grip on right now…

Does she mean “giant ass” as in a big donkey? :)

Update: Sadly, Mom says the Conestoga wagon is spoken for (Dad wants it back) and she expressed dismay that neither of us wanted the painting, which she has dubbed “Mlle. Avec Junque en de Trunque.”

LMAO!! OMG!! Dana– I love your mother! And why would you not want that painting;) Especially with such a cute name! BTW, she should amend the en to dans and it would be more confusing but still funny!

I think if your family is foisting clown art on you, they should be reported to Child Protective Services.

I don’t care what your age, clowns are evil and offspring should not be forcibly exposed to them.

Puts a whole new perspective on accumulating dustables. Nobody will fight over them, so how necessary can they be?

My grandmother does not let us pick what we want, instead she assigns us entire categories of items, for example I got ‘Linens’, one of my cousins got ‘Jewellery’, etc.

On my most recent visit she tried to give me baby pictures of myself off her wall, I told her to keep them to remember her favourite grandchild.
I say take the whimsical mirrored children artwork!!
