Backstory: My mom complains that I don’t call home enough, but she calls me even less. So when she actually did call once, and I didn’t call back, this was the result.
What’s a mother to do? I buy you a phone. I pay your telephone bill. But can Miss High and Mighty Doctoral Student return a poor mother’s message? No way. How dare an insignificant mother impinge on the important daughter’s time. All that this mother had done- scrubbed floors, made unique designer clothes, cooked healthful meals is no matter. Madame daughter is too busy. Sorry I have to stop now I have an appointment with my lawyer to change my will. Mom

If this mother wants to put me in her will, I will chat with her over the tele. . . .

Fair enough on the will, Mom, since your daughter’s dissertation acknowledgments are going to thank her cats.

Jibbity! I usually like sarcasm, but that’s harsh. Even for me.

I can see this mom smiling the whole time she is typing her message. I hope she is smiling and not that serious, just a little dig at the daughter who never calls her poor mother. Guess it depends on what frame of mind you are in when you read it.

Im just laughing at her saying “impinge” when the word shes looking for is “infringe”. Perhaps she should lay off the daughter getting a Phd.

Impinge is a word. She used it correctly!

I think that’s my grandma. Always telling me to call her but can she pick up the phone and manage to string together my number? Never.

I wouldn’t mind this from my mom. If I don’t answer she calls 6 more times, and then starts calling my boyfriend and my friends because she thinks I have died.
We don’t talk EVERY day, so it isn’t unusual to not talk one day… but we talk every week. She’s a little crazy Mama haha
