Tuesday night’s game was Polish Night for the White Sox in Chicago. One of the players, catcher AJ Pierzynski, is actually Polish. It’s actually kinda funny because a guy I know gave all the Sox players Polish-sounding endings to their last names for the night such as Podsky, Konerkue, Ramisky, and Anderski.

pierogi are generally made from dough and stuffed with mashed potatoes (plain, w/cheese, chives, onion or bacon). Great when sauteed with butter and onions. Even better when you smother them with sour cream. Now I’m hungry. Hmm…think me thinks is kielbasa and rogi night tonight.

JRG a perogie is like a pot-sticker or a eastern european ravioli. It is dough, filled with just about anything, than sauteed in butter. It is not necessarily a east coast thing. It is really a polish thing. They are popular in most large cities that have a large variety of “ethnic” cuisine.

p.s. cheese, cheese-potato, and strawberry are my favorites!

Awww… I would like to see dancing perogies! We don’t have such in our cuisine naturally but in America a lot of the Eastern European/Balkan grocery shops are under one roof so we get to try other things. I like cheese and spinach perogies. For reals. lol
