Bought a first-class ticket, didn't know the entire Rail Pass needed to be "first class" too. You can't selectively upgrade using Eurail - it's all or nothing. I think that must happen a lot, since they didn't kick us off after they checked our tickets/passes around Brussels. Ma-in-law lied through her teeth to the Parisian conductor to let us get on the train in the first place. It was good times. I know what train she’s talking about.
