Hi girls,
Dad and I are making plans to write a new will…..most things will probably be divided by 3 but some specific items will be mentioned….put in your special requests for our worldly goods now. Jewelry, glassware, paintings, guns, etc.

I love this – my own grandmother currently has sticky notes on the bottom of all of her own worldly possessions that denote who gets what, along with a list of things that sticky notes won’t fit on. We thought it was slightly morbid when she asked us to do that, but at the same time, highly amusing.

My mom used colored dots. In our family, though, guns were of more interest than jewelry, antique pottery and furniture. Gotta love us Texans!

We were having Easter dinner at my grandma’s and my cousin (who’s 23, mind you) very tactfully said “Grandma, that vase is beautiful, can I have it when you die?”
So now when we see something we like (or sometimes something that we just hate) we ask her if we can have it when she dies. We have now started putting our names with masking tape on the bottom of things we like and she finds them all over her house and calls us up on the ones that she finds particularly amusing. Luckily she’s a good sport and just laughs it off. I was smart enough to put my name on the front door at Christmas so now I get the house.

Hahaha, Court I love it! Last Christmas my grandma broke her foot and couldn’t do much shopping, so for gifts she just gave things that she planned to leave to people when she passed away.

I have dibs on my dad’s Sig 40, and I’m from Virginia, so Texas isn’t alone on the gun love!

My dad has three daughters and only two Colt Mustang .380s (which aren’t made anymore) and it’s a huge family joke that us three girls are going to have to fight to the death for them when the will is read. :)

This email was from my mom and was sent to me and my 2 sisters. My favorite part of it is “most things will PROBABLY be divided by 3″.

Hey, I’m getting to that age, and it’s not morbid at all. I like to picture my kids cursing while deploying my collection of 88 little red tomatoes from the l930′s, split 3 ways of course. Not to mention the 32 McCoy bowls I’ve collected! Really, it’s a lot of fun!
