No Kind Words for an Ex-Fiance

Backstory: My ex-fiance had a baby, and I sent my mom facebook pictures of the baby and the wife.

The baby is ugly and so is she.

GO MOM! How unlike my step-mom who, after I said something scathing about my ex-fiance, said, “Why would you say that? YOU broke it off.”

Why torture yourself by being friends? I had to defriend my ex-fiance on FB.

Haha, when I saw this I felt like I was reading my own e-mail! My mom said the EXACT same thing about my ex’s baby and baby mama! Sadly, I bet she is right; my mom definitely was.

Build a bridge, take a stroll, enjoy your life on the other side. If your “ex fiancee” has a wife and a baby, it’s long past time to quit cyber-stalking and move on. This mom probably should have said “why are you wasting time looking at these pictures? Get on with your own life.”

Yes, but being “catty” is fun. I think “mom” is probably from my home town. I can hear her saying “well, he certainly didn’t trade up!” or something like that. They even wrote a country song about it. “I hate her… I’ll think of a reason later.” LOL

Sure, being “catty” may be fun, but not if it goes on for years! This is ridiculous. All I could think of when I saw this post was, “Why is she even LOOKING at pictures of his baby?” Seriously, unless you’re still friends (which you’re obviously not) then you shouldn’t be wasting your time looking at pictures of his new family on Facebook. That’s just….weird.

Hello? the sweet joys of cyberstalking? Picking a scab every now and then? pfff. Mom rocks!

Jeez, Can’t a girl and her
      mom have fun?
      Must have been a man
      who said “get over it”.

Sorry, totally 100% female. Just learned way too long ago that dragging these things out doesn’t do any good. The ex fiancee and his new wife couldn’t care less about the OP and her mom – they are surely more than thrilled with their new little family. Bitterness and cattiness isn’t “fun”, it’s sad and pathetic.

And note, I’m saying the behaviour is sad and pathetic, not the people who engage in the behaviour.

Of course bitterness and cattiness is fun. Especially when you’re petty and small-minded like me. It CAN be theraputic; however, at some point it must end, and the OP will need to find a new target.

I thought it was hilarious, and sounded so much like my mom. Mom is just being on her daughter’s side – fierce loyalty – a very mom trait. Regardless of the friend status and cattiness and whatever else you want to discuss with this, it is classic mom to me.

Whoa these comments.. how about.. the poster might not be hostile towards her ex-fiancee and actually be on friendly terms still? (even though her mom doesn’t seem to like the new wife and baby.. but parents tend to do that, when someone ‘replaces’ their daughter)
It’s not that weird.. I know many people that ended their relationships as friends, including myself. Nothing wrong with keeping track of each other then.

Ofcourse you might all be right but still.. I found the instant judgement of the situation here a little weird.

Some of you need to take a giant pill and chill the heck out~~ I’d say the exact same thing to one of my kids about their ex’s current sitch. Even if they were cute! Its called support…dump/hurt/wound (even a little) my child and DIE :)

Your Mum can come be my friend!! :)

Must be nice so high up on that horse where you always do the perfectly correct thing and never indulge in a moment of healthy backbiting.
