My mother and a bunch of her older-lady coworkers were all up-in-arms about their college-aged coworker’s facebook status. They thought it signaled that she was secretly pregnant and possibly suicidal. My mom showed it to me, and I recognised it as the lyrics to a popular song. I tried explaining that some people use favorite song lyrics and quotes as statuses, but my mom remained unconvinced that it wasn’t some kind of secret cry for help. THAT is why you never “friend” anyone who is too old to be familiar with the technology at hand, lol.

When I first saw that emoticon on another site, it only had one three – being used to tipping my head to the left to grasp what the emoticon was, I thought it was boobs with a party hat on. Tip to the right, a heart. I don’t get the three 3’s, though. Love someone/something times three, maybe?

I always thought it was supposed to be a kiss – like a side view of puckered lips. So I would interpret <333 as "kisses".

Hum… it’s actually a sideway heart. Like the sideway smile? : D
Sometimes when someone’s OVERLY HYPED or just really really happy, they type it like this : DDD The number of Ds puts emphasis on how much (more) you are feeling.
So for the sideway heart, it’s the equivalent of “love you lots”.
