Mom: Hey not to sound creepy but I googled your sister
Me: Ummmm…okay
Mom: Have you seen her latest facebook picture?
Me: yeah
Mom: What exactly is she doing?
Me: It’s called a beer bong
Mom: Oh THANK GOD! I was worried that she might be doing drugs
Me: christ
hahaha

Call me weird, but if my daughter’s fb profile pic was her using a beer bong, I’d be concerned too. Technically, beer is a drug and getting all giddy about a pic of yourself using a beer bong is not what parents generally hope for. I’m with you Mom and I am not sure what “christ” has to do with it. ?? Yikes.

Yeah, hate to break it to you, mom, but your daughter is doing drugs, in massive quantities. And putting herself at risk of catching the flu, as well. Because beer bongs are always shared.

Someone tell that girl to make her facebook private STAT.

woah now kids. lets lighten up a little. it’s college… you do dumb things and think they’re funny. and who knows, maybe that was the one time ever she used the bong and maybe it wasn’t a full one. let’s not judge. as for christ, i believe that is a frequently used exasperated exclamation.
that said, stupid girl, make you facebook private!

No kidding, folks. A little brevity here. I’m a more than a little amused at the naivete of the mother. This is why you shouldn’t be “friends” with your parents on FB. Facebook. Private Setting. Now!!

I could be mistaken but I think your profile picture still shows up even when your facebook profile is set to private?
November 3, 2009 at 12:48 pm
@Hil, I think you’re right.

Your profile picture does still show up even when your profile is set to private. There is a separate privacy setting that you have to activate that blocks your picture from showing up in searches. There’s even another deeper layer of privacy you can activate that keeps your name from showing up in searches. The more you know! ;-)

at least I am not the only parent in civilization who is not allowed to be a FB friend of her daughters. I keep trying, and keep getting rejected. At least I have some real friends. or so I like to think.
