I’ll bet that since you have to be prostRate to get the DRE, perhaps some never get over it and can’t remember that they actually have a “prostate”. A mammogram isn’t fun, but I must say, squeezing the “boys” doesn’t seem a walk in the park either. All’s well that ends well..

My mom and dad also both say prostRate, and it drives me crazy! I’m not about to get into a discussion with them about it though, lol. Maybe there was some kind of misprint in that generation’s sex ed materials? Or maybe they just didn’t get adequate health classes in school?

Firstly I’m pretty sure xrays wouldn’t work that well if the plates were metallic.

Secondly I’d take the testicular squeeze test over a prostate test…

M – hospitals charge extra for padding?!?! Are you serious? I don’t know who’s the devil in that scenario – a for-profit hospital administrator or the health insurance company – but someone’s going straight to hell for that.

I was terrified before my first mammogram. I heard the same thing about it hurting more if you are small. I paid a little extra (I think $8) for some foam padding on the plates and I can honestly say it didn’t hurt at all!

Well, the test for prostate cancer wouldn’t involve squeezing the testicles due to the prostate not being in the testicles. Maybe testicular cancer screening should involve squeezing the testicles, though. I think we should start a movement for that.

In my neighborhood, the plates are glass or plastic. And boob size doesn’t matter as far as the Pain Factor goes — I have huge boobs and it hurts! They try to squish them as flat as possible.
