My mom used to call people “dildos” where other people might use the word “dingbat.” I’m sure she heard it somewhere and just added it to the lexicon without knowing its real meaning. No one ever corrected her until finally, when I was home from college once with my boyfriend, she referred to the president as a “big dildo.” That was the last straw for me. I told her she wasn’t allowed to ever say that word again because it didn’t mean what she thought it meant. And then when she asked what it meant, I told her she had to ask Dad. My then-boyfriend (now husband) still thinks it’s the funniest thing he’s ever heard my mom say!

Ahahaha, Jizz Master?
I was actually telling my parents about how my little brother’s friend made him listen to a song called “Jizz In My Pants” and I had to explain what it meant to him. My father laughed, but my mother was confused. She said, “What’s ‘jizz’ mean? Like, pee? Pee in your pants? How is that inappropriate?”

I found it hilarious that my father knew what it was and my mother didn’t. Then again, my mother was very sheltered growing up….
