Swap. My mom tells me never to date again because I pick unsuitable women. Bear in mind, I'm 27 and have only had 3 relationships, one of which lasted over 5 years! Bless those moms.

My mom has said the same thing to me! You'd think it was the 1950s where most women married young and had children by their mid-20s. Geez.

I just haven't found the right guy. I've read lots of stuff on compatibility, because if I'm going to invest my time, let alone my heart, in a relationship, I want it to be with someone who is right for me. The best thing I've found on the subject of compatibility is a short e-book by Hayden Dane called I Have One Question (www.haydendane.com).

Unlike most dating sites that suggest you'd be right for each other if you have activities in common, which is a little ridiculous I think, Dane makes a strong argument that admiration lies at the heart of long-term compatibility. Specifically, if you admire in the other what he/she admires in himself/herself, then long-term compatibility is likely.

He explains it in the book and evens walks through a conversation to have to draw the necessary information from guys (or girls, if you're a guy) you are interested in.

Give it a read. It's helped me a lot in clarifying what I want in that special someone and just as importantly, how to know if I've found it!

I think it's COMPLETELY POSSIBLE this email was misdirected from my mother to you. If some random (most likely also awful) man wants to date me (regardless of his suitability or my desire to do so), my mom can only ask, "Well what does he look like? Is he ugly?"
