Political Confusion

I read an article from The Economist and I don’t know what it means. (I thought it had something to do with the American Revolution…apparently not!)

“Hence the spectacular rise of the “tea-party” movement, an alliance of ordinary people who are spooked by the huge amount of debt that is being racked up on Mr. Obama’a watch.  For Demoncrats to deride such people as “tea-baggers”, a term referring to a sexual practice of involving testicles, is political stupidity of a high order”

What is the practice????

…”tea-bagging” is a term mostly found in massive multiplayer online games. Player A kills Player B, so Player A crouches on Player B’s face. It’s a douche/annoying move mostly. It’s probably a practice also found in real life but I’ve never seen/experienced it.

…how did that came up in this article, I don’t think I want to know.

I have to say I kind of like the “demoncrats.” I may have to start using that one…. Even if it was just a typo…

I’m going to say that they actually said “carpet bagging” and mom just remembered wrong!

I’m pretty sure they meant teabaggers.

No it was tea-baggers – the Economist which is a newspaper for grown-ups did not confuse it with carpet baggers. BYW the expression refers to oral sex with the testicles and Mom remembered the article perfectly. Miyu should probably get out more!

I’m with Megan–*Demoncrats*–haha, love it! Also, carpet baggers wouldn’t fit the tea-party movement, now would it? Thanks, Peter :-)

I love the fact that someone who uses the term “Demoncrats” would criticize others for saying “tea-baggers.” Political stupidity, indeed! That poor writer is completely lacking in insight and irony.

Juno, the “Demoncrats” is a typo made by the mom or the submitter; it’s not made by the writer of the original article.
