When I moved from Pennsylvania to Alabama it surprised the heck out of me that you can buy beer in the grocery store, too.

I moved from Texas to California and was stunned that you can purchase alcohol in Target, Walgreens, and pretty much anywhere as long as the store is open.

And, no 100+ weather with 90% humidity. Nice.

When we first moved to NJ from NY, my mom went to Quick Chek and asked the clerk where the beer was. His answer was “um .. the beer store up the street?”

My mom had no idea what a liquor store was!

When I first moved to NY from CA it was similar. In CA you can buy ANYTHING at the grocery store or Target, or Rite Aid. I remembered liquor stores from the midwest but hadn’t been in contact with one in at least a decade long. Such a process!
