The Facebook Generational Conflict

Okay, [Grandmother] just “friended” me on FB and I’m not happy about it–confirmed with a disclaimer that my stuff will probably upset her.

So, I realized if I feel this way it would be similar for you all, so no friend request will be coming from me.  The other weird thing is I just posted this youtube video on my wall this morning before I got her request.  SOOOOO WEIRD!!!!

This is a very strange day….

      Loved the video!
I allowed my mom to be my FB friend – I can handle her because she is my mom, doesn’t spend a lot of time on FB, and I don’t have a lot on my FB page – but ignored my MIL (as did her child, which is why I only feel somewhat rather than very guilty about it), for whom it just felt too prying. I definitely use the new privacy settings that make it easier to target who sees or doesn’t see things and am thankful most of my friends are past the need to post embarrassing photos from last night or photos with random tags of people in them.

I never accepted my Mom’s friend-request! Neither of my siblings did, either. It’s just not our style.

I am happy to have my kids, step kids and my son in law as friends on fb. But we totally get one another…….no pressure,…just fun. I am happy about this and count my blessings. My trickiest friends are my neices and nephews……funny era we live in!
