Backstory: This is the first email I received from my parents after I told them I was engaged. My mom does not use the computer so my dad sends the emails on her behalf…
Mom wants to know what your shoe size is. She wants to get you a special pair of shoes that help you to lose wt.
Love, Dad
it doesn’t come across as nice, but it really was sweet of her. every bride wants to lose weight before the wedding. she must be a planner like me. i sometimes dive right into planning mode and forget the “niceties”.

Um, no, not every bride wants to lose weight before the wedding. Some of us are fine with our bodies.

Those shoes are suposed to tone the legs, not make you lose weight, and it’s bunk anyway. You will look beautiful without them and without dieting and stressing over the scale.

I keep hearing Forrest Gump’s voice: “mama said they were my magic shoes!”

oh my gosh… that is so funny (and sad)

The shoes are actually just supposed to make you work harder with everything you do, and claim to tone just about every part of your body. I have them and they obviously don’t work if you don’t do anything else, but I definitely feel a difference when I excercise with them. And my mom bought them for me. =P
