Backstory: My mom is a retired psychiatrist and often informally diagnoses those around her. Sophie and Joey are our dogs and today Joey was the lucky recipient of her diagnostic ability.
Joey was beside himself with jealousy, trying his best to disrupt the game of tug-of-war between your father and Sophie. Joey suffers from multiple diagnoses, among them: attachment disorder and narcissistic disorder (along with terminal cuteness, of course.)
“Terminal cuteness” – I love that!

I would think a psychiatrist would know dogs can have empathy and a Narcissist doesn’t. Cute post though.

Seriously? Do YOU know Joey and do you know him to be empathetic? I’m pretty sure the mom knows her stuff.
“Terminal cuteness” ftw!

No I don’t know the damn dog. Never calimed to. I do know about Narcissit though. They have no empathy. Dogs can and do have the capacity for empathy. My point was a psychiatrist should know better. Should I type it again slower for you?

Yes, I believe that slower typing would be helpful to you. And while I understand that dogs have the capacity for empathy, that doesn’t mean that they are all that way. Perhaps Joey is truly a narcissistic dog and the psychiatrist is very accurate in her assessment. Hmmm?

A psychiatrist shouldn’t “know better” than to privately send a joke email using psychiatric terms to her KID. Get a life.

Hm, who’d have thought this post would create such a ruckus??

The psychiatrist ought to examine the two of you.
